In the fall of 1968 a prophetic word came to Reverend and Mrs. Claxton through a man of God saying, “Make haste and establish a house of liberty; a house of refuge for God’s people; for there are many in this city in houses of bondage to pharaohs behind stain-glass windows”. So the Chapel of the Risen Savior church was founded by Pastor & Mrs. Aaron B. Claxton in the living room of 3707 Woodbine Avenue in Northwest Baltimore. The church began with their six children, one senior, Mother Florence B. Williams and two other members. Sixty children were gathered from the neighborhood for a summer program and the church was established.
In 1985, the church moved to its present location, 5401 Frankford Avenue and the name changed to

New Creation Christian Church. Elder A. Bryan Claxton, the eldest son and Sheila Claxton his wife were elevated to the pastorate of the church in 1991. Apostle Aaron and Dr. Deborah were called to a global ministry and are currently traveling the nations preaching and teaching the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ with signs following.
“Pastor Bryan” retired from his government job to become fulltime Pastor in 1996. In 2002 Pastor A. Bryan Claxton was consecrated to the office of Bishop. The church is currently in an expansion project, following a mandate from the Lord to “Expand for the Harvest”.
